This role would entrust you to always maintain Health & Safety compliance (including the preparation of RAMS) as well as ensuring the correct materials/plant is arranged to deliver according to the customer specifications and requirements.
The ideal Rigging Project Engineer should be comfortable with communication and face-face interactions such as agree POW’s with all internal/external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site gating, weekly scheduling of all activities with customer and internal teams.
- Management and scheduling of resources with Planning Team
- Arrange PIVs and Rigging surveys on sites as required
- Check requested works are correct according to the DDs supplied and compare to survey reports / photos
- Ensure the build manager is made aware of any plant or specialist equipment that is needed for each site
- Prepare Risk and Method Statements for every site to meet the current customer / company and Government H&S Guidelines / Laws
- Prepare material request forms for quotations according to the site requirements and ensure forward and reverse logistics have been arranged
- Ensure Client specifications / requirements are given to rigging teams
- Preparation of Rigging IA’s / SORs / and Final accounts for commercial department
- Updating of internal and external databases, systems, and trackers to enable accurate reporting and cost control.
- Escalation point for all activity on site during the day
- Raise Health and Safety incidents and escalate issues to management and Safety Health Environment Quality [SHEQ] advisor
- Complete Near Miss or Accident reports if required
- Complete Monthly H&S Site visits and report on any non-compliances
- Ensure all additional costs incurred that are chargeable are captured and logged with the project team and additional PO cover is requested as required
- Notify build and PM team of abortive costs if required
- Ensure SLA on HOP deliver is met
- Provide support and cover for other work stream areas. Adopt a flexible approach to supporting other areas when necessary. Work largely unsupervised but contribute to team performance; suggest improvements to working practice where possible.
- Provide daily / weekly reports to Head of Rigging and or Company Stakeholders as requested
About the candidate
(Essential and Desirable):
- Minimum 5 years Rigging Project and or Rigging climber / working at Height Experience (Essential)
- Excellent PC skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access (Essential)
- Previous experience with a telecommunications rigging company (Essential)
- Working knowledge of Ericsson/ Huawei systems such as Site Handler (Essential)
- Experience in test equipment utilized in the field such as sitemasters / PIM Tester / GPS alignment tools (Desirable)
